About the Bund
The Bund is a thriving hub of culture and art within Shanghai, located at the intersection of Huangpu River and Suzhou River. It is the source and core area of the “Foreign Architecture Group” on the Bund (not sure what this means) There are 15 Western-style historical buildings alongside many historical buildings built in the 1920s and 1930s. Shanghai's modern financial, trade, artistic and cultural life also started here. The former British Consulate, the original church apartment, the original Xintian Church, and later the Rock Bund Art Museum and the Peninsula Hotel are now considered landmark buildings, representing the Bund’s history and innovation. Today, this famous area continues to attract locals, businesses and tourists.
