Meat the Truth: January Film Screening at WK
- 23-01-2014 18:45 - 21:00
- The Green @ W+K, Shanghai
At our first film of a new series of film screenings at W+K Shanghai in 2014 on Thursday, 23rd January, 6:45pm we will be screening ‘Meat the Truth’, a high-profile documentary which talks about one of the most important causes of climate change, yet repeatedly ignored topic: the intensive livestock production.
The entrance fee of 50 RMB includes beer, soft drinks and snacks. Part of the proceeds received through this film screening will be donated to the NPO Greenlife Project - an organizations that is planting trees in different parts of China to reduce desertification and help offset China’s greenhouse gas emissions.
Meat the Truth is a high-profile documentary which forms an addendum to earlier films on climate change. Although such films have succeeded in drawing public attention to the issue of global warming, they have repeatedly ignored one of the most important causes of climate change: the intensive livestock production. Meat the Truth draws attention to this by demonstrating that livestock farming generates more greenhouse gas emissions worldwide than all cars, lorries, trains, boats and planes added together.
