Our Manifesto

LEARNING WHAT MATTERS
We believe learning should be fun, spark creativity, and make us better citizens that are more responsible for ourselves, our fellow human beings, our society, and our planet. Social, emotional and ecological issues are closely connected and need to be approached in a more holistic manner.

BUSINESS FOR GOOD
We are working towards a future where businesses turn into forces-for-good to help solve major socio-environmental issues such as inequality, illiteracy, and ecological destruction. We aim to influence business leaders to make the changes and bring about these much-needed improvements.

A HEALTHY TOMORROW
Our actions today define our tomorrow. The health of people and the environment is intricately linked. The future should be about better quality products, conscious consumption, and the responsible disposal of waste, so that both the planet and its people can be healthy.

China’s Superwomen II: Women Changing Our World for the Better

Published on March 7, 2021 by Green Initiatives

“A challenged world is an alert world and from challenge comes change. So let's all choose to challenge.” IWD portal

International Women's Day 2021

International Women’s Day (IWD) is here once again, and 2021's theme, #ChoosetoChallengereminds us all to celebrate women's achievements, raise awareness about women's equality, advocate for accelerated gender parity and fundraise for women-focused charities.

So much advancement has been made in science and technology over the last 50 years, yet, according to the UN, various restrictions have kept 2.7 billion women from accessing the same job opportunities as men. Further, as of 2019, less than 25% of parliamentarians were women while atleast 1 in 3 women globally have experienced gender-based violence.

the superwomen

Green Initiatives’ arduous journey to recognize + celebrate the achievements of all (or as many as we possibly can) women social change-makers and environmental champions in our community, that began last year, continues.

China’s Superwomen – 2020 Edition-In our article from last year we featured over 80+ women social entrepreneurs and community leaders, only for us to realize that the list does not get any shorter.

(Click the image above to visit our women change-makers featured last year)

This year, we have compiled another list of 100 women who are making a lasting, truly meaningful impact in China. Do remember to check out the list from last year as well.

[Note: This list is still not comprehensive, but the result of individuals our team found over the last 3 months. If you haven’t been featured, we apologize. If you would like to be featured in the next version please send an email to info@greeninitiatives.cn]
