Organizations We Are Supporting:
Established in 2007 by Vana Mahat and six of her high school cohorts, is a Kathmandu-based non-profit organization dedicated to an egalitarian position for women and children in Nepali urban and rural society. Currently four of the seven founders still live in Nepal, while three provide support from abroad.
Over the years, PAHAL has been active in the sponsoring of secondary, primary, and college education for women and children of low income families, the creation and implementation of human rights training for Nepali children educations (child abuse in Nepali schools is an existing problem), and establishing university scholarships for women from low income families to study abroad.
In times of crisis in Nepal, PAHAL has allocated energy and resources to relief programs. Supporting flood victims during monsoon season is a prime example of such crisis relief. In the aftermath of the earthquake this year, PAHAL has turned its focus towards those suffering from this devastating natural disaster.
