Pure and Whole
Pure and Whole is a western-style vegetarian restaurant chain dedicated to people’s health and wellness, serving highly nutritious and delicious food and drinks that make a positive difference in the way you look and feel.
Frank Steffen, a veteran of the Shanghai restaurant scene was talking to a friend who was pushing him to do a new restaurant concept – something simple and delicious, ultra-healthy, and something he was really passionate about. Armed with this commitment, he gathered a small posse of awesome individuals with various backgrounds…partner and friend Gilles Bihi-Zenou, vegetarian chefs, a few yogis, a nutritionist and some of the most creative minds he knew, and together, created Kush (now Pure and Whole). (Kush, our original name means “from the heart” in Sanskrit; and while the name changed, we still want you to feel that ). A short time later, Rich Rothman joined Frank and Gilles on this purposeful journey we are on… to create a story….one of transforming the way people eat, feel, and therefore live.
The last three years have been about growing, learning, changing, transforming…. all things that make up the soul of our company because we don’t like to sit still and we are committed to constant evolution. That’s what excites us most.
Today we have four locations in Shanghai; two in Jing An District (Shanghai Centre and Yanping Road) and one in Pudong (Kerry Parkside). We have recently opened our fourth location in Gubei. As we grow, this paragraph will get edited, and it’s about to get really, really long. Stay tuned.
